What is it you think you CAN’T do? Is there some idea, some nagging thoughts you’ve been talking yourself out of? That thing that keeps coming back and keeps being put off… yeah, you should probably do something about that.
We all have our reasons for why we can’t do whatever it is we really want to do. It’s like the more we want it, the more reasons we have for why we can’t do it. Isn’t it crazy how that happens? I am definitely guilty of that. In the last few years I’ve changed that. I’ve been more about going for it! It’s the whole idea of knowing that all we really have is right here and right now so putting thing off for someday really doesn’t make sense. I had to learn this hard truth:
Well, no matter your reason for talking yourself out of “it”. Whatever “it” is. Let these fun facts give you a nudge in a right direction. Know that what you want – is totally possible!
- Beethoven’s music teacher once said of him, “As a composer, he is hopeless”.
- Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team.
- Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper because he “lacked imagination, and had no good ideas”.
- Thomas Edison’s teacher told him he was too stupid to learn anything. Later, he tried 1,600 different materials before settling on carbon as the filament for the electric light bulb.
Seriously, anything is possible!

I say it’s time to believe! The power of “CAN” Bring it on! Thanks for the inspiration!
You’re so right! We all have those feelings that are really assumptions that hold us back, although they shouldn’t. Thanks for the straight up advice!
Thanks for the great examples of people who made it despite obstacles. It is inspiring! I have a few things running around my head that I’ve put into the Someday category! Thanks for helping me get clear on moving towards it or maybe taking it off the list if it doesn’t have enough fire!
I get a lot of comments from folks that one day / someday they will travel and see the world. And my response is always, with those goals, it’s likely never to happen. Pick a day, make a plan, do something to propel you closer. Someday / one day is a cop out.
Love this, Camesha!!!
I’m guilty of all of the above. Been thinking for the longest time that I need to put my two weeks notice in at the job. I’ve actually been thinking about it since last year!! I put it off until December, then March, and now July! I keep giving myself excuses — but you’re so right — there’s only so many days in the week and I would rather spend it on fulfilling my purpose. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction!
Yes, yes and yes!!! Everything is possible! It really depends on our mentality! I say YES!!!! Great blog!
I get this! Yes sometimes it’s just that first step!
I love this! Anything is possible, you are so right. It’s time to let go of the reasons why I can’t and start telling myself why I can 🙂
Thanks for this great post! It’s important to remind ourselves that success often requires a lot of failure along the way and to keep pushing towards our dreams! I especially like the list of people who failed only to become major successes!
This post was such a joy to read Camesha.
I too believe that anything is possible and I think this message reached at exactly the right time. I will not give up on my dreams and I will not postpone my happiness.
Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks! This is SO TRUE. Today IS the day.
LOVE that someday quote! Sharing with my peeps!
You’re absolutely right. Believing you can is half the battle! I’m constantly telling myself that when I am feeling “chicken” to do something I’ve never done before!
Great inspiration! Love the badges! 🙂
I love the simplicity of this post. Sometimes we just need a little push to DO that thing that we have the most resistance to.
Just do it! Not some day. NOW!
Thanks!
It’s amazing how our mindset affects our life. Thanks for the reminder to keep pressing on!
Yes! We all have stories, excuses, and reasons to not do. That’s what sets apart the successful people from those who just sit on the sidelines and watch. Pleased to be a do-er!
So true. We are the only things holding us back. If you find resistance on one path, take a new path or carve your own!
Great post!
Trust in yourself and you can do it.
